by internationalmedicalaid

Last Updated April 2, 2024

In an era where global health challenges demand not just attention but action, International Medical Aid (IMA) stands at the forefront of offering transformative experiences that not only shape aspiring medical professionals but also make tangible differences in underserved communities across the globe. As we step into 2024 with a renewed sense of purpose, IMA is excited to announce its latest array of programs set in the breathtaking landscapes of Kenya and Peru—opportunities that beckon with the promise of learning, growth, and the chance to contribute to global health in meaningful ways.

Summer 2025: A Call to Action

The world is vast, and the needs are great, but the spirit of change burns brightly within the hearts of those who dare to make a difference. This summer, IMA invites you to step beyond the familiar and embrace a journey of discovery and service in Kenya or Peru. With programs meticulously designed to offer deep engagement with local healthcare systems, participants will gain unparalleled insight into the complexities of delivering care in diverse settings.

Kenya: Advancing Surgical Expertise

Kenya, known for its rich cultural heritage and stunning landscapes, is also home to one of IMA’s flagship programs. Based at the Coast General Teaching and Referral Hospital in Mombasa, this program offers participants a rare glimpse into advanced surgical techniques across a variety of specialties. From observing intricate neurosurgical operations to participating in comprehensive cardiothoracic and orthopedic procedures, the experience in Kenya is both broad and deeply immersive.

Peru: Embracing Primary Care

Peru’s program, set against the backdrop of its rich and varied landscapes, offers a unique focus on primary care. Here, participants engage with a healthcare system that seamlessly integrates traditional practices with modern medical treatments. An intensive Medical Spanish course enhances communication with patients, ensuring meaningful interactions and a richer understanding of health from a cultural perspective.
