International Medical Aid, a non-profit organization established at Johns Hopkins University, coordinates pre-optometry/optometry internships abroad for undergraduate pre-health students, graduate optometry students, and licensed optometrists in regions with the greatest need: East Africa, South America, and the Caribbean. By offering essential eye care support in these areas, we enable participants to gain invaluable experience in various optometry specialties through our internships and study abroad programs. Additionally, our programs provide interns and volunteers with the opportunity to experience the beauty and culture of our destinations through exclusive adventure programs led by knowledgeable and reliable tour guides.
