International Medical Aid, a non-profit organization established at Johns Hopkins University, offers Chiropractic Internships abroad for undergraduate pre-health students, graduate students, and licensed practitioners in regions with the most pressing needs: East Africa, South America, and the Caribbean. Our internships provide vital healthcare assistance to the communities in these areas while giving participants invaluable exposure to various chiropractic specialties through our internship and study abroad programs.
All IMA programs also present interns and volunteers with the unique opportunity to immerse themselves in the local culture and explore the natural beauty of our host countries through specially designed adventure programs led by experienced and trusted guides. As a non-profit organization, IMA reinvests in all the communities in which we operate. Unlike some programs that only transport participants to their hospital placements with little oversight or guidance, we offer a structured environment supported by numerous local and U.S.-based resources. IMA oversees every aspect of our interns’ overseas experience, including comprehensive safety and infection control procedures training.
