Most Popular Cosmetic Procedures in 2024

by internationalmedicalaid

Last Updated May 20, 2022

The most popular cosmetic procedures in 2022 are everything but plain and boring. And better yet, they’re extremely effective and minimally invasive!

You can get these treatments at top skincare clinics like Novuskin, where you’ll be cared for by experts with decades of combined experience.

So if you’re planning to get any work done, now is the time to do your research and figure out which procedure is best for you! Keep reading for a breakdown of the top five treatments heading into the next decade. We cover everything from best facials to facial injections.

5. Microdermabrasion

Microdermabrasion in Novuskin

Microdermabrasion is a cosmetic procedure that uses a hand-held device to spray tiny crystals across the skin’s surface. The crystals gently exfoliate the top layer of skin, revealing the fresh, healthy skin beneath.

The procedure is relatively quick and painless, and there is virtually no downtime. Plus, it’s safe for nearly all skin types!

This treatment is often described as a “lunchtime facial” because it can be completed in just a few minutes. Although microdermabrasion can provide noticeable results after just one treatment, most people require a series of treatments to achieve their desired results.

Benefits:

  • Skin resurfacing
  • Diminished wrinkles
  • Diminished fine lines
  • Healed sun damage
  • Healed acne scars

4. Skin Tightening

Radio Frequency Skin Tightening Treatment

Skin tightening procedures have become increasingly popular because they’ve completely replaced traditional facelifts. The most popular skin tightening treatment at the moment is radiofrequency.

This is a cosmetic procedure that uses radio waves to heat the deeper layers of skin. The heat helps to stimulate collagen production, which can lead to firmer, smoother skin.

The procedure is usually performed as a series of treatments, spaced several weeks apart. Some mild redness and swelling may occur after the procedure, but this typically resolves within a few days.

Radiofrequency skin tightening is considered to be a safe and effective way to improve the appearance of the skin with minimal risks and side effects.

Benefits:

  • Skin resurfacing
  • Stimulated collagen production
  • Firmer skin
  • Smoother skin
  • Diminished skin sagging
  • Cellulite removal

3. Acne and Acne Scar Treatments

Unlike before, when getting rid of acne was nearly impossible without harsh treatment and medication, today we have access to advanced technologies that work amazingly well.

There are many different acne and acne scar treatments, the most popular being GentleMax Pro, Venus Viva, and Frax Laser.

GentleMax Pro is a laser device that works wonders for acne-prone skin. It uses high-intensity beams to resurface the skin and get rid of unwanted scars. Your face might be swollen shortly after the treatment, but this will all disappear in under 24 hours.

The Venus Viva treatment uses a combination of radiofrequency and laser energy to penetrate the skin and encourage collagen production. This results in a decrease in the appearance of acne scars and a reduction in the overall size of the pores.

In addition, Venus Viva can also help to improve the texture of the skin and reduce redness. The treatment is relatively quick and there is minimal downtime, making it an ideal option for busy individuals.

Benefits:

  • Skin resurfacing
  • Diminished acne scars
  • Pore size reduction
  • Improved skin texture
  • Reduced redness

2. Chemical Peels

Chemical peels are a technique used to improve the appearance of the skin. A chemical solution is applied to the skin, which removes the outermost layer of skin cells. This can improve the appearance of wrinkles, fine lines, acne scars, and uneven skin tone.

Chemical peels are typically categorized based on the depth of tissue exfoliation: superficial, medium, or deep. Superficial peels are the most common and have the shortest recovery time. Medium peels penetrate deeper into the skin and require a longer recovery time.

Deep peels are the most aggressive and can cause significant swelling and redness. Chemical peels are usually performed by a dermatologist or licensed esthetician.

Benefits:

  • Skin resurfacing
  • Decreased acne
  • Smaller pores
  • Diminished wrinkles
  • Even skin tone

1. Cosmetic Injections

Cosmetic injections are medical procedures that involve the injection of a substance into the skin to improve its appearance. They can be used for wrinkle reduction, removing fine lines, acne scars, and other skin imperfections.

There are several different types of injections, each of which uses a different active ingredient. The most popular options are Botox injections, and dermal fillers like Juvederm, and Restylane.

Botox is a neuromodulator that is most commonly used for cosmetic purposes. It works by temporarily paralyzing the muscles in the face, which results in a smoother, more youthful appearance.

Botox is also sometimes used to treat migraines, excessive sweating, and other medical conditions. The effects of botox typically last for 3-6 months, after which the treatment can be repeated. While it is generally considered safe, there are some potential side effects, such as bruising, headaches, and dryness.

Dermal fillers are a type of cosmetic injectable that can be used to improve the appearance of the skin. They are made from natural or synthetic materials and are injected into the dermis, the middle layer of the skin.

Dermal fillers can help to plump up sunken areas of the face, reduce the appearance of wrinkles, and add volume to the lips. They are a popular alternative to surgery and can provide results that last for several months. The effects of dermal fillers typically last for six months to two years. After that, touch-up injections may be necessary to maintain the desired results.

Benefits:

  • No wrinkles
  • More balanced facial structure
  • Treating excessive sweat
  • Youthful appearance
