International Medical Aid (IMA) is a not-for-profit, study abroad program that provides healthcare internships for pre-health students, medical students, medical residents, and healthcare practitioners in underserved areas in Sub-Saharan Africa, South America, and the Caribbean. In delivering urgently needed healthcare assistance to people in these regions, we help participants gain valuable experience and clinical exposure to disciplines such as medicine, nursing, mental health, dentistry, physical therapy, and public health through an ethics-based approach to care. Our programs also allow students the chance to immerse themselves in the beauty and culture of different destinations through unique adventure and safari programs led by experienced and trusted guides.
